- Tunnel Pad is a specially designed material used in the packaging of bananas to maintain fruit quality. It is designed to facilitate ventilation while preventing the bruising of fruits when properly placed between clusters.
- Ageing Ribbons are specially designed strips (usually plastic), used to mark banana and plantains during the first week when the fruit emerges. This system of marking uses different colours, which uniquely indicates the age of all fruits having the same colour ribbon.
